J. Chase Ceramics
Johanna (Josie) Chase has been engaged in painting and working with clay for the majority of her life. Having operated a full-time studio business for a period, she specialized in crafting and selling slip-cast tableware featuring her original designs in New Bedford, MA.
Following twelve subsequent years of instructing high school art and ceramics in MA, Johanna retired to the picturesque coast of Maine, where she established a personal studio. During the colder months, she dedicates herself to working with clay, while the warmer seasons are reserved for plein-air painting.
The creations Johanna produces are inspired by her own preferences for household items. Many of the shapes and surface finishes she employs draw inspiration from the scenic coastal landscape of Maine.
Dark Stoneware and Porcelain clays are her mediums of choice.

*All glazes are both microwave and dishwasher safe.
*Some glazes may develop a crackled appearance over time, however, this occurrence is not a defect and does not compromise their functionality.
